Improving internet connection speeds in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire

In 2011 the government announced its plans to provide everyone in the UK with access to a broadband internet connection of at least 2Mbps, with 90% achieving superfast broadband speeds (over 24Mbps) by 2015. Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire councils have secured £4.07m of funding to be spent on improving the communications infrastructure of our rural areas to allow for faster broadband access.

Before work can start, we need your help in gathering information on the current internet usage and availability in your local area. In particular, we need to find out:

  • What broadband services, if any, are available and at what speeds
  • What level of demand there is for superfast broadband
  • Whether you would like to represent their area as a broadband Community Champion

Complete our surveys to improve internet connections in your area

We have created a survey for Residents and Businesses to help us collect the information we need.

The more people from a single village, town or community who complete a survey, the better the chance that we can improve the broadband in that area, so please take a minute to complete our survey and pass the news of this website on to your friends, family and co-workers.

These surveys only take a couple of minutes to complete, and could really make a difference for improving internet connections in your area.

If you work from home please complete both surveys. Just because a property doesn’t have a sign above the door does not mean that there is no business activity going on inside! Completing both surveys will increase the evidence of demand from your area.

There are other ways you can help your local community to achieve a faster internet connection. Visit our “Get Involved” webpage to find out how.
